Padang City was involved in the Pilot StIRRRD program in 2012 and developed an Action Plan which has evolved as actions are implemented.

Specifically, as a result of the NZ Study Visit, the local BPBD office has committed enthusiastically to the ‘Blue Line’ concept to reduce tsunami risk, which was originally developed in Wellington, New Zealand.
