The StIRRRD programme includes implementing some actions contained in Action Plans. As part of the Pilot programme, Padang City listed Base Isolation Training as an Action and Palu identified Risk Modelling Training. The StIRRRD programme delivered both training modules in 2015.

In addition, during the Introductory Phase of the StIRRRD programme it was recognised that BPBD staff lacked the tools to interpret hazard maps provided, and use them to assess risk and ultimately influence policy and regulations. Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) put together and delivered a Hazards Training module for the StIRRRD Districts in January 2016.
